HISTORY
The original sticker design was conceived by Tim Tasker during the winter of 1994. Tasker had been living as a ski bum in Jackson, Wyoming for a couple of years after finishing college. While visiting his family for Christmas, who had moved to Pennsylvania from England, he thought of how he could maintain a good lifestyle in a resort town. At the same time, he was reminiscing about extensive travels he had taken.

One trip in particular was his parents driving the family from Kuwait to England after an extended visit to the Middle East. When leaving the country, they were required to place a ‘KWT’ black and white oval sticker on the back of their two-toned blue 1978 Chevrolet Camero Rally Sport. This sticker was an international identification emblem. They are required when driving internationally to inform other country’s officials the origin of the license plate and registration.

After arriving in England, they later moved to America to start a new life; and with them they brought the car that now bore a ‘GB’ oval sticker. This car was given to Tim during his high school days, and then he had to relinquish it to his brother when he left for college. His reminiscing of these days and that car, together with a desire to follow his entrepreneurial spirit, clashed and bore the idea of the first TGT sticker. What if he put ‘JH’ in the black and white oval instead of a country’s initials. To give further recognition, he decided to also include the full name of the town in small type under the initials.

Then, in February 1995, the first stickers were sold in Jackson to Lees Tees and the Jackson Hole Ski Corps. They were an instantaneous hit. That summer, Tasker distributed them to a few more stores in town. They proved to sell well for all retailers. After a full year, he realized that he could create a niche market that did not previously exist. In 1996, he took his idea to a trade show in Denver and started selling to other ski and resort towns.

Through the years, Tasker, who is an avid skier, paragliding pilot and dirt biker, draws most of his inspiration from experiences in these endeavors. His extensive travels also contribute to his collection of works. He has never lost sight of the fact that remaining active in his passions helps keep creative thoughts and ideas alive. It is his hope that these stickers become a reflection of ones desires and lifestyle. His vision is for the company to always move forward, and to offer an extensive array of designs that appeal to many different walks of life.

TGT has grown dramatically, and the company continues to focus on constantly creating original designs. The line has extended to include embroidered headwear, glassware and other souvenir gifts. Although they have broadened the type of product offered, the core of the line is still stickers. TGT product is sold in more than 1,000 stores in the US and Canada.

As TGT celebrates its twelth year in business, we think about all customers and the appreciation we have of them for carrying our line. We enjoy the idea that we have connected with so many people out there who purchase and apply these stickers on cars, gear and other favorite items. It is our hope that a simple sticker can create a statement and offer inspiration to follow ones passions. Do it with style, and say it with stickers.
